Ok...so we'll try...
We call it anarchist folk rock. .
Ours To Destroy's music starts as folk but ends up somewhere else. We're not here to tell you, only you can decide where in the cosmos that is.
We are in full writing and recording mode. This website is currently in transition to a more static marketing site for this band.

We keep our MySpace Site up to date with blogs postings and new music/videos/etc. Please friend us there and keep rocking!

Ours To Destroy Live at Broken City Video: Interviews & Live Footage.

You can buy our album at ITunes or CDBaby. CDBaby's the cheapest option at $8 for CD or $6 for digital album.

KEEP THE COMMENTS COMING - We love hearing from you!

Wonderful song..very well realized. (in reference to Two Thousand sunsets - check it out on our music page).
Cheers. I like your music, all the songs are on the money. My favourites are Skipping Rope of Daisies n' Two Thousand Sunsets.
I think that you are not well known in my country. But we may try to change it :)
The minute I clicked play on their song ‘Two Thousand Sunsets’ it completely took me away from what I was doing and put my mind somewhere in the desert, driving a broken down Ford thinking of the next chapter in my journey. Their music is very eclectic and you won’t find one song similar to another.
I write about music twice a week and got interested in your music by a tip from one of my readers (and she's always right!).
ahoy. i absolutely adore your music. really great work. do ya'll have a tour schedule or anything? you should come to ATHENS, GA. the home of awesome music and even more awesome people. so come on down. please?
I really enjoyed the folk country feel of "Two Thousand Sunsets", and "Skipping Rope OF Daisies". Our To Destroy seem to pride themselves on creating a mood with each song.
bored with the same routine, with the same music, with the same books, with life in general during finals week at college i decided to search for some new music and somehow found myself staring at a rather lenthly list of indepentdent bands on which your band was. reading the short blurb about the band the name johnny cash struck me and i decided to check out the site. moments later, well moments after skipping rope of daisies loaded i found myself on your free downloads page. anywho ... i really like your music and it will help me get through the arduous and monotonous week that is finals week.thank you!
Some bands have the ability to put a song in your head and keep it there, looping over and over, altering the mood of everything you do during the day. Then there are guys like you, who have seriously put three (yes, three) songs at once into heavy rotation in my head. Should I sue for mental enchantment, or just sit here and enjoy it? Ill just sit here and enjoy it.
cool music! cool cool cool!!!
really dig the music! are you on myspace??
use more synths, erm.... and some really cool cover art. write a song about old folks getting revenge.
I'm in.
the duo is at its best when its more straightforward, melodic influences (Dylan, Eels) shine through the interesting noise, as on "Skipping Rope with Daisies" and "There Are No Words for Here." (ourstodestroy.com)
I'm a big Wilco fan. You guys are good stuff. I look forward to seeing you play live.
dig the sounds...I am all about making music
Ours to Destroy is an excellent value, not only because the album was three years in the making, but also because they used this time productively to develop their studio skills. I fully expect that this investment in experimentation will pay off nicely. Watch for new efforts from Dodd and Morley.
This site truly embraces the views I have about the music industry.
Thank you.Excellent tracks.:-) btw
I love your sound. It is very original and ecclectic.
Randomly found you guys and love the music . . where do you play?
Music lovers live to unearth obscure gems amidst piles of albums at record stores. The pleasant surprises are what keeps aficionados digging, and Ours To Destroy is going to make more than a few hipsters happy.
Thanks... For acept me... at now I enjoy to hear Ur sounds.. cool stuff.. Terra...
i really like your music. i'm a big wilco fan and can see the influence in the experimentalism in your songs. thanks again.
great single btw. (reference Skipping Rope of Daisies, check it out on our music player.
tunes = influence lyrics = body everything else, is like a nerve ending in the brain, its all instinct.
I like your music.
Hey guys!Just thought I'd make a little recommendation :) You guys should add an "Upcoming Shows" page on your website! Any chance I'll be able to catch you in Toronto in the winter? Cheers!
Dodd says "Thank You for caring. Usually Damo and I have to leave it up to ourselves to do all the caring. Thanks for taking some burden off of us and taking over some of the caring, so we, in turn, can... um... care less."
thanks for having me here.. nice sound you have!!
I'm glad Ours to Destroy didn't stick with the acoustic duo thing...I really like all the special effects on your first CD. They clearly distinguish this effort as something above the pale. Three years in the making, wow... I hope all of your experimentation means we won't need to wait as long for the next album.
The mall sounds are great--I enjoyed them...kept me interested -- the photos of the lyrics in the liner notes are cool, too bad I'm having trouble reading all of them...
I predict good things... everthing you've done in the last three years should pay off nicely. Certainly, many artists could use just what you've learned in the studio, not to mention your other skills.
...thin white duke of anarchist folk abstract...
Great sound...thanks for including me in your space:)
You guys rock. I listen to lots of music through pandora.com -- they have yet to put your music on there. Ya'll should send em a copy so more ppl can hear your music!
i stumbled upon your web page by accident .... but i'm very intriguedyour music is great and i hope you guys come to London Ontario when you're touring
interesting sound ..... :)
Your songs are for me comeback to 1972 Ummagumma, A Nice Pair and Meddle times. Your album maybe I buy in Czech Republic through Panther distributor, Prague. This some High Quality plus gorgeous, gracious, absolutely experience new new newest in line XXI.Century. Thank you again. (old faithfull listener Ben.)
Out of 15 tracks on the album, I could not find one obvious single or conventional radio hit from Ours to Destroy's self-titled debut. More accurately, I could not find a Top-40 radio sensation that would be overplayed on genre-neutral stations. In other words, it was refreshing.
hey..cool music. love it!!!
wow! found you through a google ad on an eels message board. i'm impressed!
Please. Exploiting Wilco for your own gain on Google? Pathetic. I would never listen to your stuff.
Just wanted to let you know I'm really impressed by your song writing abilities. This stuff is truly great and I love how eceletic your songs are. I really hope to get your cd so I can listen to the thing straight through. I love albums like that and I'm glad you all endorse the album-oriented approach to music. Rock on and thanks for the musicians section! I totally appreciate any help I can get as I want to make music for a living. Keep doing what you guys rea doinng because its incredible.
You made my colon explode. Thanks.
Ours to Destroy, a two-man band from Calgary Canada, is just such an underground duo that has much merit and has just put out this self-titled debut CD full of great stuff. OTD is a kind of neo-psychedelic rock band, with a certain quirkiness that recalls Guided by Voices, but they have gone their own way and followed their own muse and that is usually what brings out the best in people, this being no exception.
Really like your tunes.
You guys' lyrics are really chlicheic - its hysterical and I love it. I really like Two Thousand Sunsets - you're self-proclaimed "dark folk" song is really cool. I think Exorcising Demons sounds like the song Spiders by Wilco. You guys really have potential and i hope you have success.
Hey Damo! I have seen you at Karma a few times and we've shot the shit, I was the guy singing along one night ha-ha. Anyway the new site is amazing man! Well done, really. Hope you have a great xmas. Peace, James
