A pawn and a rook went out on a date,
The rook forsook nook for crook and took
Her on a blanket of cobwebs and soot
The pawn wanted lawn and yawned your wrong,
Cobwebs and soot and you'll never get there,
If you mean to do things obscene then it seems
My dreams fulfill and you just might get there.
Rolling eyes, deep sigh, no lie, the rook said
Goodbye you're too much trouble than you're worth
A cleft as he left her bereft a theft of all that's deft.
The King and the Queen were growing apart
The King everything lost found spring in a fling
And escaped her grasp for the night
The Queen awoke from a dream and screamed where it
Seemed the King plotted early destruction.
At night, the Knight, out of sight, brought her plight,
Sweet arsenic, a perpetual sleep,
The skill to kill her did thrill as it
Fulfilled the nightmares that suffered the Queen.
Now free, the King decreed her deeds weren't key.
The Bishop watched this roll out from afar,
A prod from God's divine rod exposed the fraud.
The King drew plans against him
Said look, the rook was the crook that snook and took
The Queen, then fingered the Bishop for treason,
Took the pawn so fond of the lawn brought the dawn
Of her reign as Queen over all
Enemies dead, hands red, now to war he said.
