Advertising Services
By advertising we mean services for which you pay to promote your music or website with the goal of increasing visitors to your website.
Right now we are only using one service - google adwords. Google AdWords offers keyword based advertising which means that you can get highly qualified users to your site if you know what keywords to use. The cool thing is that you don't even have to know what keywords to use when you are first starting out - google adwords rewards experimentation. Perhaps the greatest strength is the ability to specify a daily budget which means your costs are fully known such that you can spend as much (or as little) as you like.
Also included in the service is Google Analytics. This is a PHENOMENAL program. All you have to do is insert a little bit of code into every page on your website that you want analytics to track. After doing that step you can then get reports on everything that visitors are doing on your website over time. How long they are spending on various pages, are they actually listening to your music, which pages work, which ones don't...you name it.
I will be writing more about this program and how to use it effectively in my next article installment (it's basically where I left off from the previous article Marketing Music Online and really deserves an article of it's very own.
In the meantime I recommend that you right now and begin experimenting for as little as 8 cents per day. Start learning how to bring people that are interested in your type of music to your site.
With registration you also get access to google analytics. It's dead simple to setup, free, and provides a wealth of information about your website. Think of it as a traffic analysis package on steroids. I cant stress enough how GOOD google analytics is.
